ITS User Support Services "Software Support Matrix"
Visit this link for a detailed list of currently supported software for faculty, staff and students. Please note the following support and use conditions:
  • Due to strict licensing provisions, foundation and grant projects are generally NOT eligible to utilize Cal Poly site-licensed software titles, as there is a strong focus on academic and instructional use. "Borderline" individual cases will be reviewed by User Support Services and the Office of the CIO for qualification.
  • Due to strict licensing provisions, emeritus are eligible for selected Cal Poly site-licensed software titles only.
  • Emeritus are eligible for Tier 1 and Tier 2 service requests within currently supported products and services. Refer to Emeritus Service Levels for specific details on support services.
  • After graduation or leaving Cal Poly, site licensed software must be uninstalled - or purchased directly from the vendor. Note: El Corral Bookstore carries a wide variety of Academic versions of mainstream software at competitive prices.

Cal Poly Supported Software Downloads

Information and downloads for commonly used applications such as anti-spyware and anti-virus software software is located in the Cal Poly Portal via the Cal Poly Software Download channel.

To subscribe to the "Cal Poly Software Download" Channel, follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the Cal Poly Portal and log in; if you need assistance, contact the ITS Service Desk at 756-7000.
  2. Click on the "Preferences" icon in the upper right-hand corner
  3. Click on the "Technology" tab
  4. Click on the "New Channel" icon
  5. From the drop-down menu, select "Software Download" then click on the "Add" icon
  6. After returning to the "User Preferences" layout screen, the Software Download channel should be visible. Click on the "Go Back" icon in the upper-left to return to the main Cal Poly portal
  7. To download software, simply access the "Technology Tab" and follow the concise directions on the Software Download channel
